After completing an apprenticeship in banking at Dresdner Bank AG Markus Bertsch has studied Banking, Finance and Controlling at the J.W. Goethe University in Frankfurt where he graduated as a Diplom Kaufmann.

Markus Bertsch started his professional career at the Investment Banking Division of Swiss Bank Corporation, initially as Equity Derivative Trader and later as head of the Equity Structured Product business of SBC Warburg in Germany. Before moving on to the Wealth Management Division of UBS AG, Markus Bertsch was a Managing Director and Co-head of Risk Management Products Europe where he was responsible for the Equity Structured Product Business in Germany, Austria and Luxembourg. After joining UBS Wealth Management, Markus Bertsch served as a member of the Executive Board of UBS (D) AG where he was responsible for the Investment Products & Services department.

After more than 23 years in the Financial Services Industry Markus Bertsch left UBS AG to study for an Executive MBA at the University of Oxford. Since his graduation, Markus Bertsch has been working as a wealth management consultant, as a founding partner of Wiseadvice Financial Services as well as pursuing various voluntary activities, e.g. at the „Freiwilligen Agentur / Bürgerinstitut in Frankfurt or as Financial Adviser to the charitable foundation „Citoyen“.
