Dr. Irene Marzolff is Senior Lecturer at the Department of Physical Geography of Goethe University. She teaches geoinformatics and remote sensing and has been working on high-resolution remote sensing methods for landscape monitoring since 1995. She was one of the first German scientists using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and has been involved in developing numerous of them herself; including blimps, kites and model airplanes. Such methods for bespoke geoanalysis offer a great potential for opening ways from studying to self-employment in the fast-developing geoinformation sector.
