Dr. Bernd Geiger (*1960) is a founding partner of Triangle to which he brings more than 20 years of operational experience in industry, research and venture capital. Bernd is a specialist in computer sciences and physics-related technologies. He has successfully commercialized these technologies and has held management responsibilities in R&D, marketing and sales.

From 1996 to 1998, Bernd was head of the microscopy OEM product business at medical device manufacturer Carl Zeiss. From 1992 to 1996, he was with VC-financed university spin-off Leica Lasertechnik (previously Heidelberg Instruments), where he headed the development of next-generation laser scanners, leading a global development team. In 1987, Bernd started his research work at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), Heidelberg, in the interdisciplinary field of medical imaging. Bernd studied physics at Technical University Berlin, Eastern Michigan University and at the University of Heidelberg. He completed his PhD in natural sciences in 1992 at the University of Heidelberg.

Triangle is the only German VC that focuses exclusively on first-round university and research spin-offs. Triangle’s partners conducted more than 100 transactions over the past 12 years.
